Migrant accused of assaulting an officer


Chicago police called in backup units after agitated migrants reacted when officers attempted to arrest a migrant on charges of assault.


According to a Chicago Police Department spokesperson, police arrested a male migrant aged 20 for assault and trespass after he threatened an officer.


One migrant who lived nearby tried to stop the police arrest. He reportedly took a swing at the sergeant.


Chicago Alderman Files for Madigan’s Committee Seat


Michael Madigan, the former Illinois House Speaker, has decided to end his 50-year political career by giving up his final political seat. Madigan, who has been the 13th Ward Democratic Committeeperson for many decades, will not run for re-election.


Alderman Marty Quinn circulates petitions to fill the seat. Madigan’s racketeering case is set to start on April 1.


University launches an esports Team


The University of Illinois Springfield has opened its esports arena. After competing online, the school’s esports squad is now launching their first season in an arena on campus.


Officials stated that the facility would help UIS become a leader in esports. National Esports Collegiate Conference currently governs 237 college teams.
